Cherry Watercolor Procreate Tutorial by Freya.art

Thank you for dropping by! In this tutorial, we'll be using the premium brushes from my Ultimate Watercolor Brushset! Please download the rest of the tutorial files before we begin. You'll get the Tutorial PDF, the color swatches, and sketch for this tutorial.


Step 1: Let's begin with the Freya Paper Texture No. 4. Swipe it on the first layer in a light grey color and then lock this layer. For all succeeding layers, set it to Linear Burn so that it will pick up the paper texture details. Next, let's sketch out the composition using the Freya Colored Pencil No. 14 in a dark green color. Then create the base layer color using the Freya Wet on Dry No. 8 and the Freya Blender Wash No. 4.

Step 2: On a separate layer, color in the stems and branches using Freya Wet on Dry No. 18. Play around with pressure and layering to get that translucent watered-down look.

Step 3: Create a clipping mask for each element, and begin blending out colors using Freya Wet on Wet No. 8 and Freya Wet on Dry No. 14.

Step 4: Now add the final details using Freya Tip Brush No. 4, Freya Wet on Wet No. 3, and the Freya Wet on Dry No 19. Add reflective colors to create a realistic look, like how leaves reflect a bit of the red color from the cherry!
