Hello and welcome to another Watercolor illustration tutorial using the premium brushes from my Ultimate Watercolor Brush Set. Before we begin, kindly download the project files. You'll find the tutorial PDF, sketch file, and palette swatch for this project.

Let us begin by creating a 3000 x 3000 px canvas at 300 DPI. Then import the sketch to serve as your reference. You can also trace over this sketch, just change the layer mode to Multiply and lower the opacity, lock it, and then add another below it.

Step 1: Change the background color, and in separate layers, start adding the base color for the illustration.

Step 2: Add a clipping mask layer to each of the base layers. Using the Freya Wet on Wet No. 1 brush, start adding shadows and highlights to the bunnies. Use Freya Wet on Dry Brush No. 6 to color their ears and the decorative details around their bodies.

Step 3: Continue using clipping masks to add layers of color and shadows to the decorative borders.  Using Freya Wet on Wet 1 and Wet on Dry 6, add the grass shade and shadow around the bunnies.

Step 4: Lastly, add texture. You can add more visual interest to this illustration by adding separate watercolor paper textures to the different elements of this illustration. I used the Freya Watercolor Paper Textures for this. But the Ultimate Watercolor Brushes also have Paper Textures that you can use.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Please feel free to experiment with other designs. Show me what you come up with by tagging me in your post. 😊
